Yesterday was Makenna's first trip to the dentist. Surprisingly, she did really well. The dentist said things look good and if she keeps brushing she probably wont need braces. YAY!

A Cold Memorial Day
Weather this year was more like October than May. It was rainy and chilly. Makenna and I had to get out of the house so we went with Nana and Pop to feed the ducks. There weren't too many ducks to feed either -- they must have been trying to keep warm somewhere. We'll try again when it's warmer.

Makenna loves to feed the ducks
Pop loves to feed ducks too. ;-)

Good News To Report
Over all, this has been a good week. Check out some of the great things below:
1). Makenna is now telling me when she has to go potty. So far only 2 or 3 accidents all weekend. YAY! My washing machine is in dire need for a break.
2). Makenna took a nap in her big girl bed today -- ALL BY HERSELF. She was playing in her play room and apparently got tired and went and laid down all on her own.

3). The doctors changed my meds on Thursday. After 9 weeks of headaches with no relief I'm finally starting to feel better. I'm sure it will take some time, but hopefully I'll start to get some energy back and get back to the gym more than 2X a week.
Hopefully things continue to look up for us -- Fingers are crossed.
A New Resident At Our House
Yesterday afternoon, I notice a little bird in our garage. Common sense would tell you to leave the garge door open and he would fly out, right? Wrong! He is still there, almost 24 hours later. He doesn't do much, except chirp REALLY loud and poop on my car. I guess a good excuse to wash it. Makenna thinks the bird is going to stay with us so she wants to name it and asked me on several occasions to catch it for her. Here are a few pictures of our new little resident.

Makenna's *Not* So New Bed
I bought Makenna a "big girl" bed back in February becuase she was getting to big for her crib I put just the matress on the floor so if she fell off, it wasn't a long fall. But, so far, she hasn't wanted to sleep in it. It's very frustrating. She always wants to sleep with me and I know how terrible that is ~ for both of us. About a month ago thought she started sleeping in the pack'n play in her play room ~ still refusing to sleep in her bed, but at least she wasn't sleeping with me. Well, I got tired of the bed frame and headboard boxes being in my garage so dad helped me put the headboard together and put the matress on the frame. Here is the finished product. It's cute and she seems to like it. Fingers crossed she will sleep in it.

Wow Mom, this is fun!
Look Mom, "I'm sleeping"

The big 'ol fake smile for the camera

Making sure the blanket that was
made for her by one of her teachers
still "works" the same as it did in the Pack'n Play

Mother's Day!
This year for Mother's Day, we went to Eric and Candi's for brunch. Eric was the chef and all the food was yummy. He made skillets, omelets, sausage, fruit -- YUM! YUM! YUM!. Good job Eric! It was freezing the day before and Mother's Day was warm and I got sunburned on my arms from being outside.

My Pillow Pets
I’ve found these adorable, super-soft stuffed animals called "My Pillow Pets", which turns into a really fluffy pillow. Makenna loves them…and I know you will, too.
My Pillow Pets are not just another stuffed animal. It’s an animal and a pillow that actually has a function. They are made with a high quality chenille material and are so soft you think you were hugging a real fur coat! Tired of having stuffed animals laying all around your child’s room? Not only are the pillows great to sleep with but they can be used to travel with as well. Many kids like to take them on road trips in the car and long airplane rides. So the next time you leave the house; don’t forget your pillow pet! Children love the security that pillow pets give them. WE LIKE TO CALL THEM A PILLOW WITH CHARACTER! They are so cute and cuddly when you pick one up you won’t want to put it down!
These are new on the market, are washable and loved by all ages. So, if you are thinking ahead for birthdays, holidays or even a gift for someone needing a fun travel pillow, Check out my link on the right side of this blog or click here. http://www.easyonlinesales.com/app/?af=776404
Makenna has the lady bug. It's so soft. She loves it and sleeps with it every night. Washes up great too.
I think you all need atleast one too. :-)
